Principle Gardener Job - North Macclesfield, Cheshire - start ASAP - £35,000+ GPA depending on experience
Our client is looking for an experienced Gardener to take on a role looking after a large private Garden within a small estate in North Macclesfield.
Accommodation can be available if the candidate is not local.
The main garden covers 3 acres and has been designed and developed by the owners over recent years and is carved out into different areas with a range of different themes and planting designs. The gardens include areas of woodland walks, a vegetable garden, an orchard, extensive borders, formal lawns, Box hedging, Yew hedging, a green house and conservatory garden. Much of the garden is planted in a natural style.
The Gardener will work alongside an existing part-time gardener and caretaker / maintenance person.
Duties will include:
* All hands on gardening
* Lawn care
* Hedge trimming including box and yew hedging
* Woodland work
* Shaping of trees and shrubs
* Vegetable growing
* Care of the orchard
* Use and care of garden machinery
* Also carry out general estate maintenance and helping the team with larger jobs on the estate if required.
Ideally the candidate will have Horticultural qualifications and be able to work with the employer who is a keen gardener to establish a routine of garden maintenance.
Ideally to have Chainsaw and Spraying certificates.
Start ASAP (happy to wait for the right candidate but would like someone in place by Jan 2025)
Full-time role Monday to Friday
One bed accommodation could be available, but this can also be a live out role for someone local.
£35,000+ GPA depending on experience
