We have an opportunity for a Paralegal to join the Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) team in this firm’s outstanding Personal Injury department. This is a hybrid position, based in their head office in Manchester.

Each year, this firm’s renowned Personal Injury department secure millions of pounds in compensation for clients across the UK by taking positive action on their behalf and presenting the strongest possible case.

The Team

The RTA team understand that every road traffic accident claim is unique and comes with its own set of circumstances and challenges. 

The team possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in handling road traffic accident claims, from car and motorcycle accidents, pedestrians, cyclists and users of other powered motor vehicles, to hit and runs involving untraced drivers. 

Role & Responsibilities

In your role as Paralegal, you will be supporting the team of fee earners, assisting them with the smooth and efficient running of their caseloads on a day-to-day basis. Your responsibilities will include:
* Drafting of client and other witness statements
* Drafting schedules of loss, identifying and obtaining supporting evidence.
* Preparing instructions to medical experts and counsel
* Preparing court documents
* Reviewing and collating medical records
* Reviewing medical reports
* Researching case law on liability and quantum.
* Liaising with clients and updating on case progress
* Preparing court bundle
* Dealing with billing and disbursement payments
* General file administration
About you
* Working knowledge of the legal principles and court procedures in relation to road traffic and personal injury law
* Legal analysis and research skills
* An ability to manage your time and workload effectively to deliver work within deadlines
* Ability to work efficiently and to identify and where appropriate take the next step
* Experience of the RTA portal and Proclaim Case Management System would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be provided.

* A minimum of 25 days’ annual leave plus office closure between Christmas and New Year
