Then this School in Castleford needs you! Randstad Education are assisting a Castleford Primary School in recruiting a KS2 Teaching Assistant on a full time basis starting in September.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the needs of all students.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, particularly those with additional learning needs.
* Help prepare classroom materials and resources.
* Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
* Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and on school trips.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
* Assist with classroom management, including maintaining a tidy and organized learning space.
* Support students’ social and emotional development.
* Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Enhanced DBS
* Previous experience working with children in a school setting,preferably in KS2.
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
* Understanding of child development and learning processes.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
* Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
* First Aid certification.
