Teaching Assistant- PHSE
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 (16:00 finish on Fridays)
Salary: £24,961 per annum
Contract: Full-time (37 hours per week)

This "Good" rated Ofsted Training Provider, based in Maidstone, is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating a supportive and purposeful society. They offer tailored learning opportunities for students in non-traditional academic environments, helping them gain skills for apprenticeships, employment, or further education.

Main Duties and Accountabilities of The Teaching Assistant:
• Teaching the PSHE Scheme of Work, adjusting it as needed based on learners’ needs.
• Utilising a range of teaching and learning strategies and resources, adapted to individual needs, in line with the College’s teaching and learning policy.
• Developing learning resources and routes that meet learner needs and requirements.
• Implementing and maintaining systems for monitoring and evaluating learning activities to ensure effectiveness and best practices.
• Identifying clear teaching objectives, learning outcomes, and IEPs.
• Maintaining good order and discipline among students, safeguarding their wellbeing.
• Setting high expectations for behaviour, managing classroom behaviour, and aiding in behavioural management across the College.

Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:
• A recognised teaching qualification (or working towards one).
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of how to use and adapt a range of teaching, learning, and behaviour management strategies, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
• Experience working with young people, including those with complex, high behaviour, and additional learning needs.
• A flexible, creative, and adaptable approach, with the ability to effectively use a variety of teaching and organisational styles and resources, including ICT, to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
• Ability to work as part of a team to deliver a holistic educational package.
• Experience with safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of learners
