ABOUT THE SCHOOL. Prospero Teaching are looking for a Teaching Assistant with a therapeutic approach to work at a specialist school in Rochdale that supports students aged 5-19 years old with significant trauma informed behaviour. The school are looking for some one who has supported in a similar setting or a recent graduate with a background in psychology. Alternatively, Support workers from a mental health background would be welcome to apply. . You will be supporting children aged 5+ years old with a number of additional behavioural needs, often classed as complex. Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and caring individual who can support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. . Located close to Oldham, the school is located close to major motorway networks and it easily accessed by public transport. . The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants and support workers who have some experience in a similar role. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS . * Location - Rochdale (OL12). * Position - SEN TA. * Type of work - Classroom and SEN support. * Contract or position start date - September 2024. * Duration / Likely Duration - Full academic Year. * Contract or position end date (if applicable) - July 2025. * Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) - Temporary - Permanent. * Full time/part time - Full time. * Minimum rate of pay - £95 per day. * Hours - 8:30 am - 3.30pm : Mon - Fri (term time only). EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS. * Previous experience in a similar setting. * LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable. * GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate. * Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:. * Hold Right to Work in the UK. * Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application. * Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years.
