Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent contract.

As the Assistant Accountant you will support the company’s accounting department with their day to day functions by carrying out entry-level accounting duties such as reconciling accounts, managing payroll and preparing financial reports.
Responsibilities:
* Updating and reconciling financial ledgers.
* Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets for the company.
* Preparing financial documents such as purchase orders and bank statements.
* Verifying company expenses, bank deposits and bank payments.
* Reporting discrepancies, mistakes or potential fraud to senior management.
* Complying with financial laws and regulations alongside in-house policies.
* Researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion.
* Process payments accurately on the bank - working in various currencies.
* Assistant the Finance Manager with month end duties, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation.
* Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
* Credit Control.
* Managing Payroll.

Requirements:
* Have similar experience in a previous role.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Mathematical skills and in-depth knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles.
* In-depth understanding of analytics.
* Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficiency with accounting software, such as Xero or QuickBooks.
