Job Description:
Senior Merchandiser
Salary: Dependent upon experience

Our client is a leading supplier of home textiles to the retail sector in the UK, who now have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Merchandiser to join their growing Head Office team.
Purpose of role:
This is a great opportunity to join the merchandising team of a recognized home textile business. Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, your role will involve mentoring a team of merchandisers and stock management of a key product area, working to KPI’s and liaising with key stakeholders within the Supply Chain and Sales departments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Mentor a team of merchandisers, demonstrating best practice and supporting decision making.
* Designated responsibility for Purchase Order Sign off to an agreed level.
* Monitor, report on and take corrective action on supplier compliance to KPI’s to drive continuous improvement.
* Work to availability and stock turn KPI’s to meet the stock requirements of the business, whilst meeting sales demand.
* Plan, control and manage stock levels of a designated design / product portfolio.
* Analyse sales performance to forecasts and suggest corrective action where required.
* Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues, support critical path management and ensure intake is managed in line with stock targets.
* Proactive Issue resolution with internal stakeholders in sales, sourcing, design and warehouse.
* Build relationships and liaise regularly with stakeholders to keep assumptions up to date and solve any issues which require collaboration.
Key Competences and Experience:
* Experience in procurement, international sourcing, importing and distribution.
* Ability to organise and prioritise effectively to meet tight deadlines.
* Ability to make commercially astute decisions
* Excellent data handling and analytical skills within Excel
* Excellent communication skills
* Enthusiastic team player with a hands-on approach
* Technical knowledge of textiles production desirable
* CIPS qualified or working towards desirable
