Job Description:
Paralegal (Family)
* Location: Farnham, Surrey
* Job Type: Full-time / Hybrid
* Salary: Circa £26-30,000 – depending on experience
We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for family law and a commitment to providing exceptional support to our solicitors and clients during sensitive and complex cases.
Day to day of the role:
* Assist solicitors in the preparation of legal documents related to family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and support.
* Conduct legal research and draft memos on various family law issues.
* Manage case files and maintain organised and comprehensive case documentation.
* Liaise with clients, providing empathetic support and ensuring they are kept informed about the progress of their cases.
* Schedule appointments, court dates, and mediation sessions.
* Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as petitions, responses, affidavits, and briefs.
* Assist with the discovery process, including the collection, analysis, and organisation of evidence and documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* A degree in law or a related field, or equivalent experience as a paralegal.
* Previous experience in family law is highly desirable.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
* A compassionate and professional demeanour.
* General office & Secretarial support when required.
