Finance Manager
Telford
£60,000 to £75,000
Seymour John is seeking a qualified accountant with experience of working in a large scale (£75m+) manufacturing company with exposure of leading and managing a team. Reporting to the Finance Director you will play a lead role in the transformation of the management accounting function to ensure that the monthly accounts are produced on-time and accurately. You will play an active part in developing a business partnering approach and work closely with all key leadership members.
Key responsibilities:
* Preparation of the management accounts for all operating companies to P&L and B/S with the assistance of the team.
* Ensure the balance sheet is supported by fully reconciled control accounts. Reconciling issues to be highlighted and actions to resolve clearly identified and actioned within the following accounting period.
* Manage and support the AP function to ensure all invoices are processed properly.
* Compliance - National statistics reporting.
* Oversee the fixed asset register on Navision
* Support group budgets and forecasts preparation.
* Support external audits and preparation of statutory accounts for all operating companies.
* Accounting process documentation and work instructions.
* Preparation of and posting all standard journals and performing key reconciliations with the assistance of the Management Accountants.
* Monthly review to obtain full sign-off of journals and controls with descriptions and actions for any open reconciliation issues.
* Manage the reduction in month end timescales by identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
* Compliance - national statistics reporting.
Person specification:
* Qualified CIMA/ ACCA (or equivalent qualification) combined with significant relevant experience
* Strong accounting knowledge, ability to prepare, interpret and review management accounts and clearly explain to non-finance staff.
* Business partnering experience with other functions across the business.
* Previous experience of managing a team.
* Previous experience of implementing process improvements to reduce month end reporting timescales.
* A working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Navision / NAV BC accounting systems would be an advantage.
The role offers an early finish on a Friday, 25 days annual leave, death in service and a stakeholder pension and are ideally seeking an on-site based candidate but are open to conversation around hybrid working.
