Position: Senior Housing Litigation Lawyer (Locum)
Organisation: Local Authority based in Greater London
Duration: 3 months with the option for an extension
Working Pattern: Full Time
Working Arrangement: 1 day per month office attendance
Hourly Rate: Up to £55 (dependant upon experience)
Venn Group’s specialist public sector legal team are recruiting for Local Authority based in Greater London, who are in search of a skilled Senior Housing Litigation Lawyer to assist the team owing to an influx of additional work and handle the management of other housing lawyers
The role of Locum Senior Housing Lawyer is offered for an initial 3 month period with the potential being there for extension based upon performance and requirement. This will allow an experienced Housing Litigation Lawyer to step up into a management position
The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified Barrister, Solicitor or Legal Executive (CILEx) with a proven track record of successfully managing Housing Law cases within Local Government
Duties Shall Include:
Housing Disrepair: Manage and provide legal advice on housing disrepair cases, ensuring tenant issues are addressed effectivelyPossessions: Handle possession proceedings, representing the council in court to recover propertiesAnti-Social Behaviour: Address legal matters related to anti-social behaviour, including obtaining and enforcing injunctionsInjunctions: Obtain and enforce injunctions for various legal matters, ensuring compliance with court ordersHomelessness: Provide legal support and advice on homelessness cases, ensuring compliance with housing laws and regulationsJudicial Review: Conduct and manage Judicial Reviews, representing the council’s interests and defending its decisions in courtDebt Recovery: Oversee debt recovery processes, including initiating legal action to recover owed amounts While the Council are looking for someone with expertise knowledge in all of these areas applicants who do not fit the full criteria are strongly encouraged to apply for this role
