A London based University is recruiting an Assistant Financial Accountant to join the Financial Accounts team. The successful candidate will help contribute to all aspects of Financial Accounting including balance sheet reconciliations, year-end and tax.
Hourly rate: £30.76
Location: Central London (hybrid working)
35 hours per week
Contract length: 3 months with possibility to go permanent
Job responsibilities:
* Completion of monthly bank reconciliations
* Daily posting of bank and other financial accounts journals
* Oversee the month end checklist ensuring all tasks are processed by the relevant teams before the close of the period
* Basic VAT returns
* Assist with tax queries
* Handle prepayments and reverse charges
* Carry out monthly and annual accounting for fixed assets
Person specification:
* AAT level 3 or 4 qualified
* Comprehensive technical knowledge and experience of financial accounting, accounting systems and processes in a large organisation
* Experience with month-end processes
* Confident problem solver with ability to complete complex reconciliations
* Experience using Unit 4 Business World is desirable
