Our client who are looking for an experienced Upholsterers to join their team on a permanent basis in Hasting’s area. You will become part of an experienced team who design and manufacture high end furniture.
Main Duties
*Interpreting design orders and creating upholstery stencils.
*Selecting and sourcing upholstery materials.
*Dismantling furniture for upholstery preparation.
*Measuring and cutting leather or fabric with the aid of design stencils.
*Installing foam and batting to the furniture framework.
*Installing and repairing furniture webbing and springs.
*Stretching out and installing fabric or leather coverings.
*Stitching, gluing, and nailing fabric into place.
*Smoothing out imperfections.
*Conducting quality checks on completed orders.
*Ability to work at a fast pace while continuing to produce goods to a high standard.
*Punctuality and the ability to meet targets.
*Ability to work in a team.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Ensure that the company’s Health and Safety Policies are rigorously applied and complied with.
*Compliance with the company’s policies and directives.
*Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to lift goods so will need to have the ability to do so.
*You will be on your feet for long periods of time
Qualification’s Skills and Experience
*Proven work experience as an upholsterer.
*Excellent design skills.
*Detail-oriented.
*Ability to draw and interpret design templates.
*Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.
*Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.
*Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day.
*Good attention to detail.
Working Hours
*Mondays to Fridays
