Job Overview: We are looking for flexible and reliable Day-to-Day School Assistants to join our pool of on-call staff in Oxfordshire. This zero-hour contract role is perfect for individuals who are looking for flexible working hours and have a passion for supporting students and school staff. As a School Assistant, you will provide essential support across various functions within the school, including classroom assistance, administrative tasks, and general support duties.
Key Responsibilities: * Classroom Support:
* Assist teachers with classroom management and lesson preparation.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as directed by the teacher.
* Supervise students during break times, lunchtime, and other non-instructional periods.

* Administrative Assistance:
* Support the school office with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and managing student records.
* Answer phone calls and handle inquiries from parents, students, and visitors.
* Assist with the preparation and distribution of school communications and notices.

* General Duties:
* Help set up and tidy classrooms, halls, and other learning environments.
* Support with the organization and supervision of school events, trips, and activities.
* Provide assistance with the maintenance of school resources and supplies.

* Pupil Welfare:
* Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
* Administer basic first aid when necessary (training will be provided if required).
* Report any concerns regarding student welfare to the designated safeguarding lead.

* Flexibility and Adaptability:
* Be available to work on short notice, covering staff absences and providing support where needed.
* Adapt to different roles and responsibilities depending on the school’s needs on any given day.
* Show willingness to work across various departments and support multiple functions within the school.

Qualifications: * Experience working with children or in a school environment is preferred.
* Basic administrative and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Desirable: * First aid certification or willingness to undertake training.
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of school policies and procedures.
