Job Description:
Sanctuary Personnel are looking for a Principal recycling improvement and engagement Officer to work with Tower hamlets council. This is a full-time position, and we are paying £25.78 Paye and £34.87 Umbrella per hour for this role.

The role:
Lead the recycling improvement and engagement team, driving an increase in community engagement and behaviour change to improve local environmental quality, waste reduction, waste prevention, re-use, recycling, and composting.
To develop and deliver the Council’s Recycling Improvement and Engagement programme through effective service planning and management to achieve:
greater engagement with residents and other key stakeholders
a reduction in waste
a network of re-use activities
an increase in recycling and a reduction in contamination across the Borough
an engagement programme for schools
Key Responsibilities:
To work with the Flats Recycling Manager to lead on the continued delivery of the Flats Recycling Project through the development of partnerships with housing providers and landlords to deliver waste and recycling improvements on estates and in block of flats. Plan, organise and manage the further roll out of waste and recycling improvements.
Develop and deliver a waste awareness and education programme for schools and other educational establishments. Ensure schools, and other educational establishments, have appropriate and sufficient waste and recycling facilities and provide support for greater participation.  
To be responsible for the management and development of a team of up to four Officers that will assist with the projects and objectives in the Programme.
Applicant Requirements:
* Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths.
Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience.
* Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
* Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
* Hours: 36 hours p/w.
