Job Description:
organisational to make a difference in critical situations? We are seeking three highly motivated individuals to join our Emergency Services Centre (ESC) team as ESC Officers. In this dynamic role, you will be part of a dedicated team providing 24/7 support in emergency situations.
Available Positions:
Position 1: 34 hours per week
Position 2: 34 hours per week
Position 3: 15.84 hours per week (2 shifts each week)
Role Overview:
As an ESC Officer, you will take on a challenging and varied role that demands excellent organizational skills and an outstanding telephone manner. You will interact with customers, internal departments, and external agencies to provide crucial support during emergencies. This role requires you to operate various computer systems, radios, and alarm equipment efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring of closed-circuit television (CCTV)
Coordinating responses to the Home Emergency Alarms Response Service (HEARS)
Handling out-of-hours calls from the public and external bodies
Location:
You will be based in a Control Room at our main offices, with all work performed on-site. Please note that remote work is not an option for this role.
Shift Patterns:
Early Shift: 06:30 - 14:45
Late Shift: 14:30 - 22:45
Night Shift: 22:30 - 06:45
You will work a set shift pattern of 34 hours per week, which includes evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. The rota consists of two early shifts, two late shifts, two night shifts, followed by four days off. Every 10 weeks, a float fortnight occurs, requiring flexibility to pick up 9 allocated shifts over a 14-day period.
About You:
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals with the following qualifications and skills:
5 GCSEs or an NVQ Level 3, with at least 2 years of relevant experience
Strong public interaction skills
Proficiency in Windows-based software
Ability to maintain high concentration levels and quickly assess and address issues as they arise
Preferred Qualifications:
Willingness to obtain a Public Space CCTV Surveillance SIA license
Previous experience in a related field
Security Clearance:
An enhanced DBS Disclosure and Police Vetting Clearance are required for this role.
