We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Design & Technology Teacher to join our dynamic team at a thriving secondary school in Bradford. The ideal candidate will be passionate about inspiring the next generation of designers, engineers, and technologists. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual with a strong background in Design & Technology to make a significant impact on our students’ learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Design & Technology across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
* Develop students’ practical skills in areas such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, and electronics.
* Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
* Assess, monitor, and record students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular projects and initiatives that enhance the overall learning experience.
* Participate in extracurricular activities, including clubs, workshops, and school events related to Design & Technology.
* Stay updated with the latest developments in technology and education, ensuring that teaching practices are current and effective.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* A degree in Design & Technology or a related field.
* Previous experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for Design & Technology.
* Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
* A passion for the subject and a commitment to inspiring young minds.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
