Castlefield Recruitment are currently recruiting a Category Manager to join a Public Sector organisation in Manchester on a temporary basis. The role will be within the Construction category.
Role:
* Undertake end to end tender processes in accordance with Contract Procedure Rules
* Provide specialist procurement advice to a range of stakeholders whilst mentoring junior staff members
* Liaise with stakeholders of all levels on a regular basis to ensure that procurement plans are in place and adhered to
* Providing advice, guidance, and support on small value procurement to enable services to successfully procure goods and services
* Support the Procurement Manager by proactively resolving problems and identifying new and innovative solutions which meet the needs of users
* Ensure a high level of procurement and market intelligence in order to implement best procurement practice
* To provide and deliver contract performance management meetings
* To analyse framework agreements and collaboration arrangements detailing benefits and issues in relation to the needs of the organisations, providing expert advice to which procurement route is most viable
Person:
* Strong understanding of Public Contract Regulations
* NEC/JCT contract knowledge
* End to end tendering experience
* Familiar with category related procurement strategies
* MCIPS desirable
