Job Description:
A boutique construction consultancy, specialising in education projects, is seeking a dedicated Principal Designer to join their new dynamic team in Suffolk. The successful Principal Designer will play a key role in managing and delivering high-quality design and construction projects across the education sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a consultancy that prides itself on excellence and innovation.
The Principal Designer Responsibilities
* Overseeing the design and construction process to ensure compliance with CDM regulations.
* Managing design risk assessments and providing CDM advice to clients and project teams.
* Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information (PCI) and construction phase plans (CPP).
* Conducting site visits and health and safety audits to ensure project safety and regulatory compliance.
* Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
* Leading CDM workshops and training sessions for project teams.
The Principal Designer Must Have
* Proven experience in delivering Principal Designer services within the construction industry, preferably in education projects.
* A strong understanding of CDM regulations and health and safety requirements.
* NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
* Membership in a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH, APS).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive and client-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
