Job Description:
Teaching Assistant. * Location: Cranbrook. * Job Type: Full-time. * Salary: £90 to £100 per day. We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher in the teaching and welfare of children, ensuring they meet the targets set under their individual educational programmes. This role involves assisting with pupils’ therapeutic, behavioural, and care needs, delivering interventions and programmes as necessary.. Day to Day of the role:. * Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment, preparing equipment and materials as per instructions to facilitate effective learning.. * Assist teachers with learning activities, ensuring health and safety and good behaviour of pupils, including off-site activities.. * Support pupils in accessing learning activities as directed by the teacher to enable progress towards their targets.. * Provide clerical/admin support and undertake record keeping to support the teacher in delivering specific learning programmes.. * Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality to ensure pupils’ wellbeing.. * Contribute to the overall work/aims of the school and support the role of colleagues and other professionals.. * Undertake training and attend relevant meetings as required for professional development.. * Attend to pupils’ care and medical needs, assist with meal times, and support appropriate play and social interactions.. * Implement behaviour support programmes and, if necessary, use physical interventions to maintain health and safety.. * Assist with the manual handling of pupils and contribute to the development of hygiene and toilet training programmes.. Required Skills & Qualifications:. * NVQ level 1 or equivalent, with good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE/equivalent C grade or above in Maths and English).. * Previous experience working with children, particularly those with ASD.. * Proficient use of basic technology (computer, video, photocopier).. * Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality.. * Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond to their needs.. * First Aid qualification is advantageous..
