Novax Recruitment is actively seeking an Employee Relations Advisor based in Islington. This project is likely to last between 4-7 months.
The job:
* Provide high quality professional HR advice and guidance to senior managers on complex staffing issues relating to both individuals and groups of staff.
* Provide expert advice to Headteachers/Leaders on the application of the school’s policies, pay and conditions of service, and on the legal and best practice implications of employment issues.
* Supporting and undertaking casework on a wide range of human resources issues, including discipline, capability, absence, grievance.
* Provide guidance to line managers on how to manage potential ER issues at the informal stage prior to any formal action and necessary follow-on actions, promoting good people management practices across the organisation.
* Monitor trends relating to ER cases handled, identifying opportunities to improve policies/ ways of working.
* Coach and upskill line managers to reduce casework, supporting them to deliver the appropriate responses to a full range of employee relation casework and change assignments, empowering them to maintain management of the situation.
The candidate:
* CIPD qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
* Experience in an education setting/public sector.
* Experience of advising on and supporting restructures, redundancies, TUPE and re- deployment.
* Knowledge of ER procedures and processes such as employment tribunals.
