This welcoming school in Letchworth that supports children and young people from the age of 5 years with complex and severe special educational needs is currently looking for a skilled, patient and experienced Teaching Assistant to work hand in hand with their senior team of experts to provide the best learning and development to all their learners.

The right candidate will be supporting various classes across the school, giving you experience to build lots of relationships and learn a variety of skills within education. The school is looking for a confident, creative and resilient behaviour mentor that can build positive learning relationships with children and young people.
This is a long term role available to begin ASAP!


Your basic requirements to get cleared for this role:
* Relevant experience working with children or young people
* 2 professional references to reference your recent work with SEN children
* Strong work ethic and positive attitude
* Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to make one
* Eligibility to work in the UK(sponsorship is not available with this role)
* Managing challenging behaviour and supporting the class teacher
* Ability to assist teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment for children with social, emotional and mental health needs

Your main responsibilities for this role will include:
* Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
* Lesson/work planning for the students you are working with
* Utilise learning schemes in order to progress your student’s learning
* Report back to parents and teachers regarding the students progress
* Supporting children’s physical, social and emotional well-being
* Completion of daily records for pupils
* Classroom preparation for the following school day
