Job Description:
Teaching Assistant * Location: Newmarket
* Job Type: Full-time
* Salary: Competitive
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a vibrant primary school in Newmarket. This role involves assisting Year 1, Year 4, and Year 6 pupils, both in and out of the classroom, to enhance their learning experience. The ideal candidate will be inclusive, positive, resilient, and available to work 5 days per week.
Day-to-day of the role: * Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils in Year 1, Year 4, and Year 6, addressing their individual learning needs.
* Assist with the preparation and delivery of learning activities, ensuring they are engaging and accessible.
* Support pupils with special educational needs, enabling them to fully participate in class.
* Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction among pupils.
* Accompany and supervise pupils during non-classroom activities such as lunchtime and outdoor play.
* Work closely with teachers to monitor the progress of pupils and provide feedback.
* Assist with the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role within a primary school setting.
* MUST have experience of working in UK schools
* Strong understanding of the educational needs of children at different stages of primary education.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.
* A positive and resilient approach to challenges.
* A DBS on the update service is preferred but not essential.
