Job Description:
We are an international organisation supplying a diverse range of clients with laboratory standard finishes to a range of products. Due to our expansion plans for 2024, we are now seeking a Machine Operator to join our existing team working as part of our wider production department. Working Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week, we can offer free parking, 25 days holiday and are looking to pay up to £26k with the opportunity to increase your salary after the probationary period.
This role would suit candidates with previous Machine Operating experience in an electrical, mechanical, engineering or production environment whereby you are both operating the machine and monitoring the performance of the machinery, resolving any technical or mechanical issues. Reporting into the Operations Manager on a day-to-day basis, the main job purpose of a Machine Operator is to Operate the coating machine, ensure the machines are kept clean and maintained at scheduled intervals, to operate and maintain other equipment such as Vacuum ad blast ovens.
The main duties will include but not limited to as listed below:
• Operate coating machines in accordance with Manufacturing Standard Procedures.
• Operate, clean and maintain other equipment such as forced air dryers, vacuum pumps, vacuum ovens, chiller units, etc
• Carry out inspection of customer product prior to coating.
• Perform coating thickness tests.
• Construct jigs and fixtures to hold customer product for coating in accordance with engineering instruction.
• Assist in other areas of operation as required by the Production Supervisor.
• To ensure that site equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with company procedures to provide maximum availability for production utilisation.
• To assist in the processing of product to meet our customer delivery requirements.
To be considered for the Machine Operator you will have worked within a similar Machine Operator role within production, engineering, electrical or similar environments and be capable of both operating and maintaining the machinery. Therefore, you should have the below skills and experience:-
Have a high degree of mechanical aptitude.
Experience and knowledge of vacuum pumps would be an advantage but not essential.
Some electronics and electrical experience would be advantageous.
Willingness to learn and take on projects outside normal work scope.
Ability to work in a team or independently when required.
Experience of working in a clean room would be an advantage but not essential.
Be required to have fluent written and spoken English language skills.
