FREIGHT FORWARDER - OPERATIONS (Cargowise user advantageous)(Office based, no remote working. Mon-Fri 9/5.30)£36,000 - £50,000 (DOE) plus Bonus!Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join our clients Projects Division. This role involves coordinating and managing the transportation of oversized and heavy cargoes (multimodal - Air &Sea), ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities: *Oversee and manage freight forwarding projects from inception to completion, ensuring all logistics requirements are met.
*Liaise with carriers, shipping lines, and other logistics service providers to negotiate rates and secure transportation services.
*Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, air waybills and compliance paperwork.
*Ensure all shipments comply with international and local regulations
*Monitor and control project costs, ensuring budget adherence and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
*Generate regular reports on project status, shipment progress, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications: *Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in freight forwarding operations - Essential
*Skills: *OOG knowledge advantageous. Good Multimodal Ops essential
*Proficient in logistics software and tools (Cargowise user advantageous though not essential)
*Strong negotiation and communication skills.
*Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
*Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
