Position: School Safeguarding Officer
Location: Westminster, London
Start Date: November 2024
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
Are you passionate about student welfare and safeguarding? A secondary school in Westminster is seeking an experienced School Safeguarding Officer to join their team starting in November 2024. This is an excellent opportunity to ensure the safety and well-being of young learners in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Implement and maintain safeguarding policies and procedures.
*Offer guidance to staff, students, and parents on safeguarding issues.
*Conduct risk assessments and identify areas of concern.
*Collaborate with external agencies, including social services and the police.
*Deliver safeguarding training for staff members.
*Maintain accurate, confidential records and attend multi-agency meetings as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
*Previous experience in safeguarding, ideally in a school setting.
*Strong knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practices.
*Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and external partners.
*Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of making sound decisions.
*A commitment to promoting the welfare of young people.
