Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated FOI Officer to join our Information Governance team. In this dynamic role, you’ll manage the FOI inbox, handle a personal caseload of Freedom of Information requests, and ensure requests are logged, triaged, and directed to the appropriate department. You will also run reports and provide timely reminders to colleagues on upcoming deadlines, contributing to our commitment to transparency and public accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and triage FOI requests in the council’s FOI inbox.
Log, track, and allocate requests to the relevant departments within the council.
Maintain responsibility for your own caseload, ensuring deadlines are met.
Run regular reports and remind information owners of upcoming response deadlines.
Collaborate with colleagues to support Westminster Council’s compliance with FOI regulations.
Top Skills & Experience:
Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy and completeness in all FOI responses.
Analytical Thinking: Capable of interpreting information and making informed decisions.
Deadline Management: Proven experience managing a high volume of work under time constraints.
Autonomous Work Style: Self-driven and able to work independently.
IT Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning new systems.
Qualifications: Prior administrative experience and knowledge of FOI processes are advantageous but not essential.
