Band 6 Histology Technician6 months of NHS experience mandatory Department: Cellular Pathology
Contract Duration: 23rd September 2024 - 31st March 2025
Working Hours: 09:00 - 17:00
Location: St Richards Hospital
Pay Rates: £21 - £23 per hour
Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement

Key Responsibilities:
*Perform routine histopathology laboratory tasks with a focus on microtomy sectioning (standard, mega, singles, levels, and cores).
*Carry out routine H&E staining using Leica Spectra.
*Ensure quality control and maintain high standards in specimen processing.
*Assist in the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
*Collaborate with team members to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
*Adhere to health and safety regulations and laboratory protocols.
Essential Qualifications:
*Relevant qualifications in Histology or Cellular Pathology.
*Experience in histopathology laboratory procedures, particularly in microtomy and staining.
*Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols meticulously.
Desirable Skills:
*Familiarity with Leica Spectra staining systems.
*Previous experience in a similar role within a busy laboratory environment.
*Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
