Accounts Assistant / £24,000 - £28,000 / Eastbourne
Client Details
My client are a well-established business operating in Eastbourne. They are looking for a new permanent member to join the established Finance team.
Description
As the Accounts Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
* Processing Invoices:
*Accurately inputting supplier and customer invoices into the accounting system.
*Verifying the accuracy of invoice details, such as amounts and payment terms.
*Ensuring invoices are authorised and coded correctly.
* Accounts Payable and Receivable:
*Monitoring and following up on outstanding invoices.
*Reconciling supplier statements and handling queries related to payments.
*Preparing and processing payments to suppliers.
* Bank Reconciliation:
*Regularly reconciling bank statements with company records.
*Identifying discrepancies and resolving them promptly.
* Credit Control:
*Monitoring customer accounts to identify overdue balances and taking action to recover debts.
*Contacting customers via phone, email, or letters to follow up on outstanding payments.
*Negotiating payment plans and maintaining records of agreed payment terms.
*Assessing new customer creditworthiness using credit checks and setting appropriate credit limits.
*Reporting on aged debtors and escalating problem accounts to management when necessary.
*Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of credit control activities and customer communications.
Profile
To be successful in your application for Accounts Assistant, you should be:
*Previous experience in a similar role (Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Credit Control).
*Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
*Able to build both internal and external relationships.
*Familiarity with Accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
*A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
*A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop skills.
