Spalding / Horncastle / Boston (Hybrid)

Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for your next challenge?
Our client has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join them on a Fixed Term contract working as part of their payroll team processing four monthly payrolls (total of circa 1300 individuals paid).
They are a small and supportive payroll team forming part of the wider HR Service who have an opportunity following an internal secondment of one of their Payroll Officers.
This role is key to the delivery of the payroll functions within our client and you’ll have opportunity for wider development through participating and contributing to wider HR initiatives and projects.
Typical duties:
*Be the first point of contact for payroll queries from their employees, Client Councils and external payroll related stakeholders including pension.
*Processing expenses and payroll for them and their Client Councils through HR and Payroll system. Full training on the system will be provided.
*Calculate and process all statutory and occupational payments such as sick pay, maternity pay etc.
*Administer the Local Government Pension Scheme and ensure that the appropriate information is communicated to relevant pension providers, HMRC and other statutory and pension scheme bodies. You’re not expected to have experience of Local Government Pension scheme, they can train you on this.
What they’re looking for:
*Someone with previous experience of payroll and will ideally have worked with multiple payrolls, however, this is not essential in a similar role.
*Up-to-date payroll and technical knowledge.
*Knowledge of using an electronic HR/Payroll system to manage payroll in an organisation.
