The Role
The Quality Engineer will be an integral member of the Quality Inspection team, responsible for ensuring that quality controls are rigorously applied across all stages of production. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring quality processes that meet ISO:9001 standards, align with customer specifications, and support the company’s internal quality systems.
Ideal candidates will bring a proactive approach to quality improvement, along with hands-on experience in inspection and a willingness to adapt in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Process Controls: Design and verify quality control processes in line with ISO:9001 and specific customer requirements.
*Inspection Oversight: Perform first-off and in-process inspections to confirm that products meet design specifications.
*Non-Conforming Products: Oversee the control and documentation of non-conforming products, ensuring accurate reporting and tracking.
*Quality System Enhancements: Identify potential improvements to control plans, PFMEAs, and quality instructions.
*Support for Quality Manager: Collaborate with the Quality Manager to apply quality tools and best practices within the production environment.
*Supplier Quality Monitoring: Track and assess supplier quality performance, verifying that incoming materials meet company standards.
*Internal Audits: Assist in conducting internal audits to maintain compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Skills:
*Quality Control Experience: Demonstrated experience in quality control within manufacturing or a similar high-precision environment.
*ISO 9001 Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO:9001 standards and experience in applying these within a production setting.
*Mechanical Drawing Interpretation: Competence in interpreting mechanical drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
*Measuring Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and understanding calibration processes.
*Communication Skills: Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams, as well as with suppliers and customers.
*IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experienced with process management software.
*Quality Tools Familiarity: Knowledge of quality management tools such as control plans, PFMEAs, and 8D reports.
