Job Description:

We’re representing one of the largest providers in our industry, providing training across all four nations in the UK. Our client are Ofsted grade 2 and have 5,000+ active apprentices on program have been working in training for 30 years.
Role: Functional Skills Trainer
Reports to: Skills Development Team Leader
Location: Hybrid/ Northwest – Remote working, with travel & face to face delivery across the NW.
Salary: £29,890
The Job
The role will see you working with a caseload of apprentices who are conducting their Maths & English Functional Skills. You will be predominantly supporting learners with additional learning needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering one to one and group sessions, with a mixture between remote working and face to visits. Face to face visits will be with candidates across the Darlington & Durham and the surrounding area. Candidates must have their own vehicle and be happy to travel when required.
Person specification
*Has a minimum of two years’ delivery experience
*Has a minimum of two years’ experience delivering numeracy & literacy qualifications • Understanding of the Work Based Learning environment
*Holds recognised teaching/training qualification at Level 3
*Qualified to Level 3 Certificate in Adult Literacy and/or Numeracy or Functional Skills at Level 2
Top Major Tasks and Activities:
*Interpretation of initial assessment and diagnostic assessments to formulate a learning plan
*Manage a caseload of learners to achieve Functional Skills timely ensuring test ready within the required target date.
*Manage the eLearning platform for modules & levels assigned, continual review of progress against the specification of each Functional skill
*Deliver learning sessions to include e-learning modules & 1 to 1 sessions in the learners workplace
*Ensure learner support evidence is recorded onto Etrack adhering to audit requirements
*Communicate with Regional Trainers & Training Managers to ensure progress is communicated and opportunities to contextualise the learning is explored with the
Trainer Additional Key Accountabilities:
*Contribute to the evaluation of effectiveness of learning delivered
*Attend training course(s) commensurate with specific additional job role requirements, company, or contractual needs in order to maintain individual Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
*Undertake all tasks and responsibilities specified in the Company’s operations procedures, working instructions
*Undertake any self-development identified in appraisals
*Ability to deliver training to groups in addition to 1 to 1 sessions
*Analyse and identify skills gaps from system generated data
*Ensure Health, Safety, Equality, Diversity and Welfare policies and procedures are followed at all times
