Job title: Chef / Cook
Location: Alne Hall, Alne, York, North Yorkshire, YO61 1SA
Rate Of Pay: £12.50 Per Hour
Shift Patterns: Part Time, permanent
Information about the Role:
Working as a Chef / Cook at Alne Hall your duties will include the following:
*Creating, preparing, and cooking fresh, nutritious and varied meals for our residents including those who may require modified or special diets.
*Ensuring preparation and presentation is always to a high standard
*planning meals and consulting with residents and care staff to ensure that individual dietary needs and preferences are catered for
*Some responsibility for ordering, checking in and controlling supplies
*Working as part of a diverse staff team
*Opportunities to influence the menu and the dining experience of those within our care (quarterly review of menus)
*Ensuring that the dining experience is positive
*Ensuring that the kitchen standards are maintained in line with the Safer Food Better Business requirements.
*To prepare and present food to a high standard and quality.
*To ensure that you work within an agreed budget
Information about the Service:
We specialise in supporting people who have varying needs as a result of physical and long-term neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida & hydrocephalus, and stroke.
Our teams are highly skilled and trained to deliver specialist and complex nursing care and have significant experience with tracheostomy, PEG care, wound management and the provision of end of life care.
Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Chef / Cook:
*The right candidate will have a real passion for Cooking.
*Relevant experience in a similar setting working as a Chef / Cook / Sous-chef / or Chef de partie.
*Ability to work on shift/rota pattern, including some weekends.
*Have the right to the work in the UK.
*Excellent organisation skills.
*Working knowledge of the Safe Food Better Business requirements.
*Ability to work well under pressure.
