Job Description:
Senior Accountant
*Annual Salary: Circa £40,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience
*Location: Luton
*Job Type: Full-time
Reed are pleased to be working with an established accounting firm who are seeking a Senior Accountant with expertise in the medical sector, including GP practices, medical partnerships, and private medical practices.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Prepare and finalise management and annual accounts, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
*Oversee and support junior staff on simpler assignments, ensuring high standards and aiding in their development.
*Handle complex assignments and ensure all relevant files are prepared for manager or director review.
*Maintain awareness of NHS pension schemes, GMS contracts, and NHS funding streams.
*Manage complex business tax computations, including corporation tax.
*Prepare personal tax returns and provide proactive tax advice within legislative frameworks.
*Build and maintain trusting relationships with clients through professional communication and understanding their needs.
*Ensure compliance with all systems, processes, and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience:
*Minimum of 3 years in the medical accounts sectors
*Skills:
*Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
*Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with accounting software like Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
*Knowledge:
*In-depth knowledge of accounts specific to the medical sector.
*Understanding of cloud accounting and software-like IRIS and Virtual Cabinet is desirable.
