Delivery Manager - Digital Transformation Program
Location: Newport (Hybrid working, at least 20% office-based)
Salary: Competitive
About the Role
Our client is delivering a major end-to-end digital transformation, integrating cutting-edge technologies while maintaining live services. As a Delivery Manager aligned to one of their service squads, you’ll oversee the effective delivery of new and ongoing products and services, working with a cross-functional team including Developers, Test Engineers, Product Managers, Technical Architects, and more.
Your key responsibility will be ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of systems from backlog to production, using Agile methodologies. You’ll be focused on continually improving delivery processes, advocating for Agile best practices, and providing value to both internal and external users. You will also play an active role in a wider Delivery Manager Community of Practice, sharing knowledge and driving best practices forward within the team and the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead cross-functional Agile teams, delivering products and services with a focus on speed and quality.
*Collaborate with a diverse team to manage and convert extensive backlogs into production-ready systems.
*Drive continuous improvement in Agile practices, ensuring value delivery to users.
*Influence and support professional development across your squad and the broader Delivery Manager community.
*Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing priorities and expectations.
*Provide accurate, timely updates on progress, resources, and impediments to support decision-making.
*Empower teams to develop technical and personal skills while adapting to new technologies.
Required Experience & Skills
*Proven experience as a Delivery Manager or Scrum Master, managing cross-functional Agile teams.
*In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban, and DevOps.
*Experience leading teams in delivering componentised solutions as part of broader programmes.
*Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and navigate political boundaries.
*Proficiency in tools such as Azure DevOps and Project Online.
*Experience with automated delivery methodologies, including automated pipelines and testing.
*A relevant Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager qualification is highly desirable.
Working Environment
This role follows a hybrid working model, with at least 20% of your time required on-site at our Newport office. We offer flexibility and encourage candidates to discuss working arrangements with the hiring manager to find the right balance between remote work and office-based days.
