Network Security Engineer - The Role:
KHIPU Networks, a leader in cyber security and networking, is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer with expertise in Palo Alto Networks firewalls to join our growing team.
You’ll manage, support, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewall solutions across customer and internal networks. Your work will be essential in ensuring the security and performance of client network infrastructures.

Network Security Engineer – Key Duties
- Configure and maintain firewalls and network equipment across various environments
- Monitor and troubleshoot firewall and network performance, connectivity, and security issues
- Use your skills and experience to resolve cases, adapt troubleshooting skills and knowledge of firewalls and networking
- Implement firewall policies, rules, and configurations to align with security best practices and organisational requirements
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend solutions for identified network risks
- Support and carry out firewall upgrades, policy and configuration changes
- Occasional visits to customer sites where on-site work is required
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and change logs
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients and internal teams as needed
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
- Engage with customers professionally, providing telephone, email and remote technical assistance
Network Security Engineer – You:
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or equivalent certifications with alternative security vendors e.g. Fortigate, Checkpoint
- Industry certifications with other vendors supported by KHIPU e.g. Infoblox, Aruba
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of firewall policies, network security protocols, and best practices
- Proficiency with networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, NAT, etc.)
- Familiarity with security monitoring and management tools
- Experience working in a Support or Managed Services environment
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
