Pay: £13 per hour (Training), £24 per hour (Deployment)
About the Role:
Securitas partners with UK Fire Services to deliver vital Fire Resilience Crew Capability during major incidents, industrial actions, adverse weather, and other emergencies that could impact staff availability. With a dedicated, standby team of over 500 trained personnel, Securitas is the only security provider offering this unique UK preparedness service. Our team is ready to respond to support and uphold public safety during critical times.
This is a deployment-based role for individuals who can be mobilised with relatively short notice, serving as front-line responders during periods of high demand. You’ll represent Securitas professionally as Fire Resilience Crew contributing directly to UK emergency preparedness.
Training and Core Responsibilities:
Your role begins with a comprehensive paid 12-day consecutive training program at the Fire Service College in Moreton-In-Marsh, covering skills essential for deployment, including:
*Hose running
*Hydrant operation
*Pump operation
*Ladder climbing
*HAZMAT (Decontamination training)
*Road Traffic Collision (RTC) - the use of hydraulic cutting equipment
*First Aid
*Breathing Apparatus (full mask) for search and rescue
*Offensive and Defensive Firefighting
Key Responsibilities:
*Engage in ongoing training to maintain deployable status, including a 12-day initial training and annual 6-day refresher courses.
*Participate in scenario-based training and skills practice during ’stand-down’ times to ensure full readiness.
*In the event of a deployment, be able to respond quickly to designated emergency locations within the UK and be prepared periods of training and exercises.
*Support emergency response activities, performing tasks typically handled by public service firefighters.
*Adhere to safety protocols for personal protective equipment, including use of breathing apparatus.
Essential Skills1. Physical Ability Candidates must possess the physical strength and stamina to perform rigorous tasks for extended periods. This includes:
*Stamina: Ability to run 100 meters, jog for 5 minutes, and complete a 12-hour shift.
*Movement and Agility: Ability to climb ladders up to 8m, navigate confined spaces, and maintain flexibility in movement.
*Strength: Capability to lift up to 25kg and drag 55kg (e.g., heavy equipment or simulated rescue scenarios).
*Environment Adaptability: Ability to work in extreme temperatures, variable weather, and in enclosed or dark spaces.
*Vision and Hearing: Unassisted ability to read and distinguish sounds.
2. Key Skills *Problem Solving and Dynamic Risk Assessment: Make timely decisions under pressure with situational awareness and hazard perception.
*Adaptability and Alertness: Quickly identify changes in a dynamic environment and adjust actions accordingly.

*Clear Communication: Communicate clearly and confidently with teammates and the public in English.

3. Medical Fitness Applicants must meet medical standards for firefighting duties, ensuring no health conditions could hinder their performance. A clean-shaven policy is required for safe wearing of breathing apparatus.
4. Additional Specification *Must have the right to work in the UK, be able to travel nationwide and pass a 5-year security screening process.
