Trainee Semi-Senior Accountant
Buckhurst Hill, Essex, IG9 5BY (on Central Line)
*Full time, permanent
*£30,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience

As a small, busy practice managing around 200 clients across multiple industries, we offer a supportive and dynamic work environment. Our close-knit team focuses on providing exceptional client service and is looking for a motivated individual to grow with us.
The Role
In this role, you’ll gain invaluable experience and take on early responsibility in a variety of tasks. You’ll receive comprehensive training and support, including an ACCA, ACA, or ACA-CTA study package, to help you advance your accountancy career. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who’s looking to build a long-term career with a supportive, client-focused team.
Key Responsibilities:
*Bookkeeping and VAT returns
*Payroll preparation
*Management accounts and year-end accounts
*Tax return preparation
*Ad-hoc advisory services for clients
*Use of Xero software for accounts preparation
*Assist with construction industry scheme and rental accounts
*Maintain strong client relationships
*Stay up-to-date with current accounting and tax regulations
*Support with client tax planning and advice

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual who is eager to take on more responsibility and gain broad experience. About you:
*Highly organised self-starter looking for more responsibility and the great all-around experience that a small practice can offer
*A good degree, highly numerate, great time management skills, and keen attention to detail
*Part way along the journey with your accountancy exams with excellent marks so far
*Personable with good people and presentation skills
*2+ years’ experience working as an accountancy trainee in an accountancy practice with a good working knowledge of Xero, and solid accounts preparation skills
*Knowledge of payroll, VAT returns, construction industry schemes, rental accounts, and tax would be an advantage but not essential
