We are seeking dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join our highly regarded specialist school in Sheffield. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about supporting young people aged 11-19 with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autism spectrum disorders, severe learning difficulties, and physical impairments.
Day-to-day of the role: *Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs specifically designed for students with SEND.
*Support students in classroom activities, ensuring engagement and participation.
*Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
*Facilitate communication between students and staff, advocating for the students’ needs.
*Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to support continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Proven experience working with SEN students, particularly those with SEND, in a similar or transferable role.
*Must possess a valid DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
*Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEND.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain patient and empathetic.
*A commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
