About the Role
At [School Name], they believe that every step forward—no matter how small—is a victory worth celebrating. Their teachers are driven by the idea of making even the smallest positive impact in the lives of students. For some young people, simply sitting through a lesson can be a huge achievement. These “huge small victories” are what they celebrate, knowing that these moments add up to create lasting change in students’ lives.
As the Head of Maths, the successful candidate will lead a dedicated team of professionals to support children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. *Plan and deliver engaging, accessible Maths lessons that support students with ASD and SEMH.

*Lead a team of teaching staff, providing mentoring, support, and professional development.
*Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth, resilience, and confidence.
*Coordinate the Maths curriculum and ensure it meets the needs of students with additional learning needs.
Essential Criteria:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong Maths background.
*Experience working with students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), SEMH needs, or other additional learning needs.
*Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop a team.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including parents, external agencies, and professionals.
*A positive, resilient, and student-centred approach to teaching.
Desirable Criteria:
*Experience in a similar leadership role or a desire to take on leadership responsibilities.
*Familiarity with using evidence-based strategies for supporting students with SEMH or ASD.
*Experience in developing and implementing whole-school initiatives.
