Job Description:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Materials Planner to join our prestigious client based in Redditch, offering an excellent salary and bonus/benefits package to include:
*Salary banding offered is £28-30K DOE
*38 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 08.30 - 17:00,Fri 08.30 - 15:00
*23-25 days annual leave - excluding Bank Holidays
*Company pension scheme
*Quarterly attendance bonus
*Plus, additional benefits and incentives
The role of the Materials Planner is to ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. You will have previous experience of delivering efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements, whilst maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure supply of materials meets requirements. Key responsibilities of the Materials Planner are:
*Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
*Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
*Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
*Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on production schedule
*Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production and escalate to management
*Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement
*Utilise the IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
*Transferring of stocks/materials from external warehouses, raising and booking of purchase orders
*Ad-hoc administrative duties to support the departmental requirements
*Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
*Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability
*Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organisation
*Cover for other Material and Customer Service duties when required due to absence or annual leave
Previous Materials Planning experience is required within a manufacturing environment.
