Job Description:
This position requires that the incumbent has a deep knowledge of operating procedures, an understanding and acute awareness of key areas of risk and an ability to effectively navigate the organisation to resolve issues in a timely and sensitive manner. Managing competing priorities in the Production environment, with an ability to switch seamlessly between tasks quickly is vital for success in this role.
Additionally, this position has responsibility for providing input and support to projects, both internally and with the OSP, in the capacity of operations subject matter experts.
You need to have a good understanding of the trade flow and cash management process, as well as keeping abreast of market changes and their impact on the business.
Principal Responsibilities
OSP Oversight
*Maintain over-sight of the OSP on a daily basis, ensuring deliverables are met in-line with the agreed SLD, including but not limited to review of scheduled reporting, authorisation instructions and exception management.
*Manage complex queries from both internal and external stakeholders The incumbent is considered an internal subject Matter Expert for both internal and external contacts on the trade life cycle, internal policies and market practices.
Operational Support
*Support new account/product onboarding activity within existing processes and ensure new processes or nuances requested are clearly understood, with sound business processes built to support that activity.
*Review work of Middle Office team to support investment operation workflows including, but not limited to, ad-hoc FX requests, security setup and maintenance, reference data changes, production issues etc. Be proficient to provide cover of all tasks in periods of high-volume, absences etc.
Change Management/Process Improvement
*Participate in projects, system and testing initiatives, and coordinate associated data clean-up efforts. Possesses a good understanding of the data being used from various feeds and how that data is distributed to multiple downstream systems.
*Create and update policies and procedures on a regular basis; ensure they accurately reflect compliance regulations and system enhancements. Document workflow and systems changes.  Provide training to team members as appropriate on new business processes.  Continually build technical skills and industry knowledge.
*Identify improvements to existing workflows to reduce query volumes, risk, manual touchpoints etc. Agree milestones for completion of changes and work independently to achieve goals.
Personal Attributes/Skills/Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s Degree (or regional equivalent) and substantial related experience
*Strong operational background 
*Strong knowledge of products and global markets   
*Strong functional expertise (which may be focused on Middle Office, Trade Support and/or new markets)
*Ability to work effectively and make sound decisions in a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines  
*Proactively research issues and follow through to resolution
*Strong analytical, research, audit and quantitative skills
*Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
*Detail-oriented
*Able to communicate effectively with multiple levels of management in both the operations and investment sides of the business
*Ability to work with OSP to maintain high level of client service
*Strong IT skills including MS Excel and role relevant technology
Preferred:
*Experience in Investment Management operations 
*Understanding +/or having exposure to the role of an outsource provider and associated over-sight functionality.
 Effective project management skills / experience.
