Job Description:
Payroll Assistant, Maidstone
Salary - £30,000
*Execute a full range of payroll responsibilities, handling annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly payrolls.
*Prepare and draft essential payroll documents, such as pay slips, P45s, and P60s.
*Process Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC as required, including end-of-year RTI submissions.
*Manage end-of-year processing and reconciliation tasks.
*Apply tax code changes accurately.
*Process payroll for new starters, leavers, absences, statutory leave, and pay.
*Generate and distribute payroll reports for management review.
*Ensure compliance with tax, National Insurance (NI), and pension contributions.
*Follow and contribute to refining payroll delivery processes.
*Serve as the first line of support for payroll-related queries.
*Support the finance team with general tasks, including reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end processes.
*Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships.
Qualifications:
*1-2 years of experience in a high-volume payroll environment.
*GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above, with a solid grasp of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
*Strong initiative and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
*Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to convey information effectively across the organisation.
*Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
*A collaborative team player with a flexible, can-do attitude.
