Nurture Teacher (Autism Specialist KS4)

Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of students with autism and additional learning needs.
*Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, focusing on emotional, social, and academic growth.
*Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team to create individualised learning plans (IEPs).
*Use a nurture-based approach to develop students’ self-esteem, communication skills, and independence.
*Implement and contribute to the school’s holistic approach to learning, promoting well-being and positive behaviour.
Essential Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Previous experience working in a SEN setting, specifically with students on the autism spectrum.
*Strong knowledge of autism-specific strategies, sensory needs, and communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, or TEACCH).
*Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
*Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
