About the Role:
The Occupational Therapy Team is looking for a dedicated and skilled Locum Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team for a 4-month contract. This exciting opportunity offers flexibility with a hybrid working arrangement, combining office-based and remote work, and allows you to make a meaningful impact in the community.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, recommending equipment, and supporting clients to maintain or regain independence. You will work closely with a supportive team to deliver high-quality care and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
*Community-Based Assessments: Conduct assessments for clients in their own homes, evaluating the need for equipment and minor adaptations to promote independence.
*Triage and Decision-Making: Provide input into triage processes and help determine the suitability of Occupational Therapy, reablement, and other interventions.
*Moving and Handling Assessments: Carry out assessments, recommend equipment, and identify opportunities to reduce care needs where appropriate.
*Hospital Discharge Support: Collaborate with the D2A OT to facilitate hospital discharges and ensure smooth transitions for clients returning home.
*Major Adaptations: Assess for and recommend major adaptations as required to enhance clients’ home environments.
Key Requirements:
*HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with relevant experience in community settings.
*Strong knowledge of occupational therapy assessments, moving and handling, and major/minor adaptations.
*Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
*Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Benefits:
*Hybrid Working: Flexible working pattern with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
*Mileage Expenses: Locums can claim back mileage from their place of work to client visits (excluding travel from home to the office).
