Job Description:
*On site four days a week.

A leading school in East Sussex is seeking a dedicated and proactive Finance and Operations Manager to join its dynamic team. Based in a coastal town, this school serves over 1500 students in a modern, state-of-the-art building.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the school’s educational aims by overseeing financial operations, contributing to strategic decision-making, and leading the finance team to ensure financial efficiency and accountability.
This role is based on site 4 days a week, and the ideal candidate is a current School Bursar, School Business Manager or equivalent- School/ Education experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead the finance function and manage a team, ensuring the efficient processing of accounts, budgets, and financial reports.
*Work closely with the Leadership to influence operational and strategic decisions.
*Prepare monthly management accounts, monitor budgets, and manage audits.
*Oversee payroll management, including pension schemes, and support HR with staff forecasting.
*Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
*Identify financial risks and opportunities to maximize resources and income.
Person Specification:
*A background in accounting within an education setting
*Previous experience as a School Business Manager or Bursar
*Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
*Knowledge of academy funding, financial regulations, and systems.
*An analytical mindset and the ability to make strategic decisions based on financial data.
