Job Description:
SEN Teaching Assistant Required for Primary School in Sidcup
*Full time 8:30am-3:30pm Monday to Friday
*Start date: ASAP until July 2025
About the role:
This primary school are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to work with within their ASD provision. The provision is a mix of KS1 and KS2 students with SEND.
Your Role:
*Supporting an a group of children on a 121 basis
*Ability to use PECS to communicate with non-verbal children
*Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
*Providing feedback to teachers and parents
The ideal candidate:
*Outgoing and mentoring manner
*Previous experience working with children with ASD
*Ability to work with children known for very challenging behaviour outbursts
*Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
*You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a school, so being prepared is vital.
*Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
