Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with severe learning difficulties and profound multiple learning disabilities (PMLD)?

Could you be the SEND teacher who can help students achieve their potential, no matter the challenge?
We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a well-established school in the Leeds LS10 area. This rewarding role is available immediately, with the contract running from December 2024 to Easter 2025. The position is full-time, with hours from 8.30 AM to 3.45 PM, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with PMLD.
*Provide differentiated support and maintain a high level of care for each student.
*Collaborate with a team of teaching assistants and therapists to implement effective individual education plans (IEPs).
*Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers.
*Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth, confidence, and independence.
*Promote inclusion and diversity, creating opportunities for all students to thrive in a safe and nurturing space.
Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Experience working in SEND settings, specifically with PMLD students.
*A genuine passion for working with children who have complex needs.
*Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant safeguarding policies.
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and parents.
*Active DBS on the update service.
*A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
*Implement effective speech and language strategies to support student communication.
*Lead and manage staff effectively to ensure a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
*Demonstrate strong skills in curriculum planning, adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
*Manage behaviour effectively, using positive strategies to support students.
*Have a thorough understanding of students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and complex communication challenges.
*Lead multi-sensory teaching approaches to support diverse learning styles.
*Possess experience with moving and handling and supporting students with complex medical needs.
