Job Description:
Design Manager
Cornwall
Mid term contract!
One of the area’s most diverse contractors with a busy pipeline of work across a number of sectors is seeking a freelance Design Manager to work on a long term contract role.
They work on a range of negotiated and tendered projects for both private and public sector clients encompassing Academic, Healthcare, Housing, MOD, Commercial and Industrial works and have a vast and impressive list of clients for whom they undertake high levels of repeat business.
As a Design Manager, you’d be reporting into the Design Lead, liaising with the site teams, senior management, consultants and architects to effectively manage the design process and have key responsibilities for:
* Ensuring the production of design programmes, scopes, design gap analysis, and schedules to record progress
* Co-ordinating appointments
* Monitoring upline reporting
* Attending / chairing necessary meetings and workshops, ensuring notes are taken, actions are agreed and distributed to the relevant functions.
* Supporting the project requirements to help ensure all the key design deliverables are tracked and compliant with Building Standard
* Managing designers (consultant and subcontract) to provide adequate, complete and compliant information to meet the design programme and to pass client approval gateways.
An experienced Design Manager, it is envisaged that you’d have previous knowledge of working in a main contracting environment, ideally within a Tier 1 firm. You would need to have experience of delivering BIM projects and should have prior knowledge of sensitive, security conscious schemes, with previous clearance being advantageous but not essential.
The contract is starting immediately and could run for 3-6 months and therefore will be paid on a PAYE/PAYE Umbrella basis - to register your interest, please forward your CV across today!
