Job Description:
Technical estimator – Leeds – Hybrid - £40,000
At Gilbert Meher, we’re looking for a Technical Estimator to join our client’s team. In this role, you’ll review specs and drawings to deliver accurate solutions, prepare technical commercial bids and support both Sales and Post-Sales Teams.
You’ll also engage with clients to build lasting relationships, manage your own workload to exceed industry timelines and keep records organised in their CRM and electronic systems.
Responsibilities:
• Interpret and respond to customer inquiries including scope of work, schedules, drawings and project specifications.
• Prepare detailed and accurate quotations with estimates for custom equipment that complies with regulations, using component selection software and identifying cost-effective solutions to improve gross profit.
• Document and communicate the scope of work to Project Managers and internal departments once projects are secured, attending relevant internal meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, ensure proper documentation, and provide technical support to clients and colleagues.
• Train and support new or less experienced team members, maintain a professional workplace, and uphold health and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience as an application engineer or estimator with strong communication skills. The role requires client relationship management, CDM regulations and a commitment to ongoing training.
