Hazardous Chemical Assessor
Location - Oxfordshire

Are you interested in working in a non-laboratory / office-based role? Do you have an academic or professional background in Chemistry? Do you have a keen interest in environmental conservation?
We are currently offering the opportunity for a new assessor to join an environmental-based company in Oxfordshire. Our client is seeking a hard-working and engaging individual to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for either a graduate chemist who is looking to begin their scientific career or an experienced professional within the hazardous chemical management industry.
Applicants must have current UK work eligibility.
The Role
As a Hazardous Chemical Assessor, you will be responsible for:
*Interacting with clients via the phone or email to accurately identify their hazardous chemical waste,
*Ensuring all conditions are met for pre-acceptance of hazardous waste,
*Determining appropriate routes of waste disposal,
*Producing & issuing invoices for waste disposal.
Skills and Experience Needed
The ideal candidate will have the following:
*An ability to relocate / commute to Oxfordshire (essential)
*BSc in Chemistry or a related discipline with hands-on laboratory experience - e.g. HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR, UV-Vis (essential).
*An interest in working in an office-based position & liaising with clients via phone / email (essential).
*Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
*A keen and demonstratable interest in environmental conservation - such as environmental-based chemistry modules / projects at university (desirable).
*Prior experience liaising with companies / clients over the phone and dealing with invoices - e.g. working as a Treasurer for a University society (desirable).
*Prior experience working within the hazardous chemical industry (e.g. Technical Assessor / Site Chemist / Chempac Chemist) (desirable).
